Welcome, Thanks for checking out First UMC!

You'll find jeans & t-shirts mixed with suits & ties – wear what you have and come as you are! We put the words on the screen but there's a printed bulletin to follow along with as well.

You'll hear piano, organ and the occasional trumpet or drum accompaniment too. We'll have a choir anthem and usually 3-4 congregational hymns; most of which come from our hymnals, which you'll find in the pews, or you can follow the lyrics on screen.

Our preaching is rooted in scripture, tradition, experience and reason, and applied to daily life in 2026! Our Pastor, Rev. Christopher Eshelman, illustrates the sermon with art, photos, and the occasional video clip.

Children are welcome in worship!  Kids will squirm, babies will cry, and it’s okay - the Holy Spirit will move! All ages are welcome in the Sanctuary! We have activity bags to help keep them engaged - and we have a nursery available in the education wing if that's a better option for your family. (Sometimes Mom and Dad need a break, too!)

As United Methodists, we understand that it is Christ who invites us to the table, and so all are welcome to partake in Holy Communion, which is generally held the first Sunday of the month.

Curious about our theology, history, or something else? Check the About Us page or drop us a note using the Contact Us! link below and we'll be happy to share more.

We look forward to getting to know you!
